Both a professor at Ecole des Mines de Paris and a top marathon runner, Philippe Fuchs embarked on a new marathon towards Beijing from Paris last seventh of march. His objective is to reach the capital of China on or before the beginning of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games on Friday August the eighth.
The challenge is not only a sport achievement but an innovative scientific experience led by medical researcher as well. Indeed, several sensors, dispatched on Philippe Fuchs' body will acquire a vast quantity of data to be recorded and processed.

As a technological partner, Intempora SA puts its Real Time Multisensor Advanced Prototyping Software, RTMaps at Philippe Fuchs’ disposal. The embedded system will pick up data like breath frequency, heart rate, blood pressure, meteorological data, etc…
All recorded data will be processed and analysed by the Laboratoire CNRS Mouvement et Perception de l’Université de Méditerranée and by the Laboratoire Physiologie et Physiopathologie de l’Exercice et Handicap de l’Université Jean Monnet of St Etienne, France.
