Perception, at reduced speed, of the vehicle's environment
Carsense project, sponsored by the European Commission in 2000-2002, took advantage of a complete range of sensors: short and long range radars, laser telemeters, as well as vision and stereo-vision devices. It also relied on data circulating on the vehicle CAN bus. The multiplication of sensors made the results more reliable.
The datalogger was based on the first version of RTMaps technology. Its success has led to its industrialization.
