The Darpa Grand Challenge is an automated vehicle competition organised by
DARPA (
Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) since 2004. The automated vehicles must travel from one location to another, covering a distance of approximately 175 miles (280 kilometers) in less than 10 hours, and with no human intervention. The circuit to be followed is given to the participants two hours before the race begins, in the form of GPS readings given on a CD.
Intempora S.A. is a contributor to the Dotmobil project, that presents its automated vehicle Blue Froggy in the DARPA grand challenge.
The data from the different sensors is centralised and processed using the RTMaps software.
